This is as Special Color Edition. Steve's mission is to motivate and encourage families and individuals to make the outdoors a key component of their daily life. Follow Outdoor Steve and friends on their adventures with stories, pictures and videos throughout a multitude of outdoor actions. Outdoor Play Volume II provides outdoor activities to do. Hiking, canoeing, kayaking, XC skiing, snowshoeing, ice-boating, triathlons, crewing, sea-kayaking, making apple cider, giant pumpkin regattas, and week-long wilderness trips are among the engagements described. Steve's writings include over 60 personally created videos documenting Steve's places to go, trip preparations, routes, and narratives of each trip. Videos include Steve crossing the fabled Knife Edge trail on Mt Katahdin, friends going through rapids on the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, and cross-country skiing down forest trails. Linwood Parsons, Master Maine Guide, says, "Outdoor Play Volumes I and II are Steve Priest at his best. The camaraderie and bonding that Steve has with his family and friends are apparent in all his writings. A perfect two volume follow-up to his previous best seller Outdoor Enthusiast, Never say "I Wish I Had..." Chris Thompson, Business Columnist - Union Leader & NH Sunday News, says, "I am a regular follower of Steve Priest's work. Outdoor Play Volume II brings Steve's passion and experiences to life again. He shows us how the outdoors can have a profound impact on our personal and professional lives, and most importantly, the quality time we spend with our families. A must read for support and motivation to go outdoors for a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle."

Autorenporträt
A native New Englander, when explaining his enthusiasm for the outdoor, Steve paraphrases Thoreau's "Discover I had not lived", with his mantra, "Never say, "I wish I had...". Whether paddling, camping, skiing, hiking or rowing, Steve is always willing "to give an outdoor experience a try." Outdoor Play Fun 4 4 Seasons Volume II is Steve's fifth outdoor book. Steve has been a college professor and a healthcare administrator. He has written books and articles on information technology. These quests are professionally rewarding and intellectually challenging; however, they do not provide physical fitness. His outdoor pursuit began after a torn Achilles tendon, a resultant limp, and weight gain. He turned to physical activity in search of a stress reliever as well as a "lifestyle for the long haul." Steve's writings on 'Outdoor Play' enthusiastically portray the entertainment of the outdoors. Here are a few of Steve's "Bucket List" journeys: - Knife Edge Trail to Baxter Peak at Northern Terminus of Appalachian Trail A long day hike to Baxter Peak, the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. Crossing the fabled Knife Edge Trail, perhaps the most spectacular trail in New England - and also the most dangerous. - Ocean Kayaking on the Maine Island Trail The MIT is a 375-mile chain of over 180 wild islands along the coast of Maine. Steve describes two 20 mile ocean paddles. - The Allagash Wilderness Waterway Without a doubt, Maine's Allagash Wilderness Waterway rates as one of the grandest wilderness areas east of the Mississippi. Extending some 98 miles end-to-end, Steve describes three AWW weeklong trips. - Paddling the Boundary Waters of Minnesota and Ontario's Quetico Provincial Park Paddling and camping in an area of 1 million acres of forests and thousands of miles of water routes. - Tuckerman Ravine Hike on Mount Washington Tuckerman Ravine is an isolated vast open bowl perched on the southeast slope of Mt Washington, the highest mountain in the Northeast. - Rowing through the eyes of a beginner Steve shares his first time experience of sculling and sweeping lessons in an eight plus, quad, double and single. Watching crews is one thing, but doing it is an eye opener and appreciation of this unique sport. Steve Priest resides in New Hampshire with Catherine, his wife of many years. They have two sons and two grandchildren. If you're interested in having Steve speak contact him at www.outdoorsteve.com.
