Mike Blackwood is a Southern author and humorist. He grew up throughout the South as a foster child and lived with a variety of families during those early and formative years. Many of those coming-of-age stories are included in this compelling collection of short stories. Mike is a graduate of the University of Alabama, a retired United States Marine, and several stories of those years are also included in the collection. He has survived cancer and the invasive surgery that went along with it, and there are encouraging words and stories about those experiences here too. He hopes readers will find laughter, encouragement, and something to think about within the pages of this book. Mike lives at stately Blackwood Manor in South Carolina with his best friend and close companion Doc, the world-famous black Lab. Mike would like to thank you for purchasing this book, because Doc needs some more chew toys.
