I was born and raised in a small town in Connecticut, and my brother and sister both still live in that state. My mom and dad believed in hard work and honesty. I began writing in the third grade and continued because of encouragement from my teachers. After junior high, my parents suggested I attend technical school. I was told that I could not make a living as a writer, so I wrote to please myself. This continued for many years until I met my future wife. Instead of wine and roses, I pursued her with carnations and poetry. Because of her, this book was written.
