Produktbeschreibung
This book is written to appraise tonnage calculation of overburden thickness of Olode Gbayo mineralized pegmatite using geological and geophysical methods. The area of investigation lies within the basement complex of southwestern Nigeria. The area of study is underlain by the Gneissic rocks with mineralized Pegmatite/Quartz vein of the Precambrian basement complex of south western Nigeria. These research work reviewed geophysical resistivity techniques using Schlumberger configuration method to give an insight into the nature of the subsurface which involves calculating the reserves of the rocks in the study area. The geophysical survey of the mine environment at Gbayo, Olode village Ibadan (Northeast) South western Nigeria is to evaluate the geological parameter that will influence the economic viability of the mining of the rock mass. This is done by the study of the resistivity variation characteristics of the area to determine the overburden thickness. This is complemented by determination of the specific gravity and eventually reserve tonnage is estimated.Precautionary measures to be taken at the mining sites before and during mining are highlighted in the book.
