Overcoming dormancy should be studied extensively, not only for cultivated plants that will bring high financial returns, but also for plants from our Brazilian cerrado, such as the barbatimão tree, which is only exploited by family extractivists looking for extra income from its bark. There is a great need for research into this tree, as it could become very effective pharmacologically, as it is powerful in the healing process. For a different view of the methods, there is a great insistence on methods that are already widely used and scientifically proven, so there should be a new line of research, as done in this work, using a technique that is very well known for large crops and very little for natives, which are so important for the development of Brazilian flora and fauna.
