Autorenporträt
Jennie Burch has been a registered nurse for 25 years, most of which have been spent working in the field of gastrointestinal nursing. This experience has included working in colorectal, urology, breast oncology and diabetic wards; plus many years as a stoma specialist nurse, research nurse and enhanced recovery after surgery nurse before moving into gastrointestinal education. Jennie has written or contributed to over 150 peer-reviewed articles, written chapters for or edited several books as well as giving presentations in the UK and worldwide. She has also gained a Master's degree in gastrointestinal nursing. Brigitte Collins has for numerous years worked in the field of bowel care in particular colorectal wards, as a specialist nurse in stoma care and colorectal cancer. For 14 years she worked at St Marks Hospital as the Lead Nurse in Biofeedback Therapy where she managed a team of healthcare professionals in the world of bowel dysfunction, with each member of the team governing their own caseload from assessment through to discharge with excellent results in patient outcomes. In 2018 Brigitte took early retirement from the NHS and was fortunate enough to take up a post as a Global Clinical Education Manager with MacGregor Healthcare Limited where she has been able to influence education, research, audit, evaluation and product development in the world of rectal/transanal irrigation for bowel dysfunction.
