Autorenporträt
Gavin Spickett trained in Oxford and carried out research for his DPhil at the MRC Cellular Immunology Unit. He then completed his medical training in Ipswich before moving to the Clinical Research Centre, working with Dr. David Webster on primary immunodeficiency diseases. He completed his senior registrar training in Oxford with professor Helen Chapel before taking up his present post in Newcastle, where he has led the clinical immunology and allergy service and the regional immunology laboratory for 20 years. Stephen Chapman is a Consultant and Senior Lecturer in Respiratory Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals. He graduated from the University of Oxford Medical School with a degree in Natural Sciences, and also completed his specialist training in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine in Oxford. His main interests include cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, pneumonia and complex lung infection. His major research interest is the study of human genetic susceptibility to severe bacterial respiratory disease. Grace Robinson is a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, UK. John Stradling is Emeritus professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Oxford, and is a Consultant Physician at the Churchill Hospital Experimental Medicine Division. His main interests include sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease and vascular reactivity. Sophie West is a Consultant Physician at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle. She undertook her Research MD in Oxford in obstructive sleep apnoea and Type 2 diabetes. She is Lead of the Newcastle Regional Sleep Service, and sits on the British Thoracic Society Sleep Specialist Advisory Group. John Wrightson is a Consultant at the Oxford Centre for Respiratory Medicine, Churchill Hospital. His special interests include pleural diseases and lung cancer. He also organises the British Thoracic Society ultrasound courses, and is an invited speaker on the American Thoracic Sociery and European Respiratory Society courses.
