It last came to perihelion on 7 October 2006. During the 2006 passage the comet only achieved an apparent magnitude of ~9.5. Levy was believed to have been recovered on 03 June 2011 at magnitude 19.8, but other observatories have been unable to confirm a recovery. It has not been observed since 01 December 2006, and only has a confirmed observation arc of 60 days.
