Located in the north-western Negev near Netivot and Rahat, it falls under the jurisdiction of Merhavim Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 359.The moshav was established in 1953 by immigrants from Iran, and was named after steps taken in the Hebrew year 5707 (Hebrew: " ), i.e. the establishment of the 11 points in the Negev in October 1946.
