He made his debut in Costa Rican Primera División back on 1999 playing for LD Alajuelense against Deportivo Saprissa, but only lasted 11 minutes on the field where he received two early yellow cards. That was probably the worst game he had, after returning from suspension, he became one of the most beloved players in the history of the institution. He declared that his time in Costa Rica was the most important thing in his career and after his retirement, he decided to stay in the country and help his beloved team with their youth teams.
