Emigrants left Earth two millennia ago to escape the genocidal horror of the Mutant Wars. The conflict had its origins in unrestrained human genetic engineering. What started out as alterations to repair genetic defects morphed into enhancements. Once these enhanced individuals were no longer seen as human, the wars began. Pacifica was a harsh world but one the emigrants thought could be terraformed to satisfy their needs. Unfortunately, they brought the consequences of playing God with them. They never imagined they would lose their technology. They didn't plan on fighting a never-ending war. They didn't believe the immoral society they had escaped would ever find them. Sometimes things just don't go your way. Tee isn't overly concerned with the life-or-death struggles of Pacifica. His cousin's girlfriend is so much more interesting. He dreams about a future together. But first he has to survive.

Autorenporträt
Tom Burrell resides with his wife in Northern California. When not writing, Tom is busy with their five children and five grandchildren. He has a degree in mechanical engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Before becoming an author, Tom enjoyed a career in the electronic test and measurement industry. Prior to becoming a responsible adult, Tom spent a decade of his youth wandering aimlessly working a long list of jobs. These included lifeguard, swimming instructor, janitor, security guard, grill cook, painter, greenhouse worker, midnight shift convenience store clerk, residential liquor delivery driver, waiter, too many factory jobs to count, day laborer when immediate cash was required, and maker of handmade deer skin cowboy hats. These custom hats were sold by traveling around California to county fairs and other events where people tend to drink too much.
