I felt compelled that I had to tell people about my story, of years of travels throughout the mines in their very own backyard--the great 'Outback of Australia'. So that they could visualise and know, what I know, about FIFO life in the mines. I feel that I was very fortunate to be able to catch the last couple of historic mining decades, before the real mining larrikins and some other very unique FIFO characters, from the past twenty years, started to all disappear for good from all the different mine sites. I hope that you, the reader, will relate to my travel experiences, and enjoy this book. Because it really is the last piece of one man's history and story from the mines on this vast continent, which they call... 'Great Southern Land' and is better known as 'The Land Down Under'.
Autorenporträt
I felt compelled to write this book and tell people about this story of my different travels throughout the mines in their own country, Australia. By reading this book, they will know and would be able to visualise what I know about 'FIFO' and life in the mines. I also wanted to include my sincere story-telling tribute to all my ""Comrades of the Steel"" in this book, with whom I've had the distinct pleasure of either their long- or short-term acquaintance throughout that time. I feel that I was very fortunate to just be able to catch the last couple of historic mining decades, before the real mining larrikins and some very unique FIFO characters from the past 20 years started to disappear for good from all the mine sites here in Australia. I hope that you, the reader, will relate to and enjoy my book. Because it really is the last piece of one man's story and history of the mines on this vast continent, ""The Land Down Under"".
