TMP esters, derived from palm oil via transesterification, prove to be excellent biolubricants for industrial use. These biolubricants exhibit remarkable thermal and oxidative stability, a high viscosity index, and crucially, biodegradability. They are ideal for marine applications, where environmental concerns, especially oil spillage, are paramount. However, the demanding lubrication requirements in the extreme conditions faced by marine vehicles have limited biolubricant use. Thus, this study aims to enhance TMP esters by blending them with synthetic marine engine oil. This process will boost kinematic viscosity, lower pour points, and improve wear prevention, essential for four-stroke marine engines. Importantly, biodegradability is retained. Results suggest a 40% TMP to 60% Synthetic Oil blend ratio optimizes biodegradability without compromising engine performance.
