Sharon J. O'Donnell is an award-winning newspaper columnist and the author of two humor books, Please Don't Let Me Be the Oldest Mom in the PTA and House of Testosterone -- One Mom's Survival in a Household of Males. From 1998 until 2010, Sharon was a family life columnist for The Cary News in Cary, NC. She has also written for Good Housekeeping, Better Homes & Gardens, The News & Observer (Raleigh, NC), and Blue Mountain Arts greeting cards. She has taught writing workshop residencies in countless elementary and middle schools in the Raleigh area. Sharon's first children's book, Pancake Jake, a fun adventure story about diversity featuring pancakes and waffles, will be published soon. She has also recently written song lyrics, including some for teenage artist Brooke Hatala. Sharon is a native North Carolinian and a 1984 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in print/broadcast journalism. She lives in Cary, NC with her husband, Kevin, their long-haired dachshund, Norm (along with 16 years of precious memories of their beloved dachshund, Fenway), with frequent visits from sons, Bill, David, and Jason.
