The book describes childhood exuberances of two village kids Onu and Magnus, growing up in the burrows of Southern Nigeria, known as the Heartland. Their dreams and aspirations both as teenagers and young adults were drastically altered by a 30-month civil war between Nigeria and its former region that seceded to become separate country Biafra. The youngmen traversed the thickets and along the Road to Perdition; they survived the war to tell the rest of their story in Pangs & Pleasures.
