This study represents the surgical management of parasagittal meningiomas started from May 2003 to May 2005, involved (12) patients in the neurosurgical department of AL-KADHYMIA HOSPITAL and THE NEUROSURGICAL HOSPITAL. Our aims were to determine the predominant presenting complaint, the surgical management, surgical out come and the immediate post operative complications. The age group most commonly affected was between 40 - 60 years. About (66.6%) with clear female predominance affected in about (2/3) of the cases. Hemiparesis was the presenting complaint in (33.3%) of cases and the headaches and seizures each account for (25%) of the cases. The visual impairment and cognitive dysfunction each account for (8.3%) of the cases. Papilledema was a predominant sign in (75%) of cases. All patients underwent surgery by craniotomy. Gross total removal was done in (83.4%) of cases and subtotal removal was accomplished in (16.6%) of cases.The early post operative complications include fits in (16.6%) of the cases and increased hemiparesis in (8.3%). The surgical out come was good in (83.4%) of cases and fair in (8.3%) and poor in (8.3%) of cases.
