It discusses parental involvement in learning, parents as leaders, parents as active partner in learning and parent-school connection. Also, it shows the challenges of parental involvement in learning, strategies for encouraging parental involvement in learning and the benefits of parental involvement. After a thorough reviews of the previous studies and based on the readings, this paper concluded that parental involvement is associated with a wide range of positive child outcomes in schools, such as good academic skills, positive attitudes and social competence.Parental involvement is a combination of commitment and active participation on the part of the parent to the school and to the student. There are many problems concerned with involvement. Organizations that advocate for education at the grassroots level are growing in number and they are working to organize parents, offering increased opportunities for parents to engage in education policy issues. The recommendation of this paper is to have a parental involvement in learning to make learning for children pleasant and encourages them to work even more as they seek to make those closest to them proud.

Dr. Louie G. Sanlad is a proud Subanen from Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines. He is a graduate of Bachelor in Elementary Education major in General Education at Mindanao State University. He also graduated the degree of Master of Arts in Education major in School Administration and Supervision at Cebu Technological University. From the same university, he graduated the degree of Doctor in Development Education. He is a diverse teacher who easily used to encourage, manage, and motivate learners to learn from the different cultures being one of the members of the Indigenous People in the country. He takes the responsibility of becoming a proficient teacher using his professional skills and efficiency to communicate his ideas and views and commit himself for achieving organizational objectives with the team effort and his positive attitude and performance. Furthermore, he tries to have any kind of effect in others' lives through teaching. He considers being a grade school teacher as an improvement of his profession to wind up dynamic and connected with members in the public arena, inspires the children who will represent the future generation during his public and private school teaching. Recently, he is the school guidance designate at Mayor A.S. Fortuna Memorial Elementary School, Guizo, Mandaue City, Cebu.
