The notion of parental participation in the education of their children is a foreign concept in Samoa. This study examined the phenomenon of parental participation in two high performance schools in the urban area. It was hypothesized that high parental participation and confirming teachers' knowledge of this participation would correlate. The hypothesis was partly confirmed and supports predictions from the literature.
