Self-esteem is an important part of adolescent's evolution, and parents play a very important role in shaping their adolescents' feelings of self-worth. Poor parenting has an impact on the self-esteem of the children. Excessively high parental monitoring leads to lower adolescent self-esteem. Also, the order (ordinal position) in which a person is born into their family plays a substantial role in the individual's development of personality, character, intelligence, and career choices. In order to enhance high self-esteem, parents need to pay more attention to their children in the early stages of their development. Also, additional research should be carried out in order to explore more connection between parenting styles, ordinal position, and self-esteem. The book will be very useful for all student in the Social Sciences, especially psychology when writing their final project.
