High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Paris Métro Line 5 is one of the 16 metro lines built in Paris, France. It crosses the east of Paris from Bobigny to Place d'Italie. It is the eighth busiest line on the network. In early 2006, it was announced that line 5 and two other lines will receive new rolling stock. These trains will be introduced in 2010. June 6, 1906: Line 5 was inaugurated with a section from Place d'Italie to the Gare d'Orléans. July 14, 1906: The line was temporarily extended to Gare de Lyon. December 17, 1906: The line was extended to Lancry . October 14, 1907: Line 2 Sud from Etoile to Place d'Italie was incorporated to the line 5. November 15, 1907: The line was extended from Lancry to Gare du Nord. November 15, 1936: Gare du Nord station was rebuilt so that the line could be extended later. September 2, 1939: Services to Arsenal station ceased at the start of World War II and was eventually closed permanently.
