Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder affecting the central nervous system, with gradually deteriorating motor abilities. After Alzheimer's disease, it is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder. Lesional and deep brain stimulation surgery is performed on those for whom medications fail.
