EPRDF has been controlling the country since then. Under EPRDF Ethiopia has conducted series of multiparty elections and established legislative bodies at various levels. The House of Peoples Reprsentatives' is the supreme law making body with a constitutional mandate of over sighting the country's executive. The oversight function of the House includes financial control and scrutiny activities. This study on the House's Financial Control and Scrutiny role reveals praiseworthy legal and institutional frameworks for democratic accountability but very questionable performances.
