Many communicators in English fail not only to express their ideas clearly but also to understand what others communicate. This is especially true among students in English classes, particularly in this researcher's Grade 10 English subject. This research examined the students' (in the experimental group) knowledge of syntactical structure involving the interpretation of garden-path sentences (GPS) through parsing. This was done to shed light on whether parsing could help students write clear, unified, and coherent paragraphs.
