Howard L. Schnellenberger retired from the sidelines in 2011 after 29 years as a head coach and 18 more as an assistant coach. He continues to work at Florida Atlantic University as an Ambassador At Large. He and his wife, Beverlee, live in Boynton Beach with their Brussels Griffon affectionately named Safety Blitz
