Work enthusiasm and burnout reflect peculiarities of mental states, work motivation and behavior of activity subjects. The relevance of the relationship between these phenomena is stipulated by the fact that some researchers represent passion as an antipode of a burnout, others are inclined to the opinion that they are independent, others point out that exactly the enthusiastic employees have a high risk of a burnout development. This paper shows that connections between passion and burnout are more complicated and ambiguous than it is presented in other works. This conclusion is based on the results of the substantive analysis of the phenomena confirmed by empirical data. The author reveals the peculiarities of the relationship of passion and burnout with the personal features of the employees and their performance appraisals. Using the sample of the service sector representatives 4 types of combinations of the phenomena expression are singled out and recommendations for each type, aimed at the preservation of internal resources, high level of labor motivation and work satisfaction, are offered. The book is addressed to recruitment and training specialists, managers, employees of socionomic professions and researchers of states and behavior of labor subjects.
