Pastoral Care In African Context: The Use Of African Indigenous Practices In Adolescent's Pastoral Care, addresses issues that affect the adolescents. Certainly, most adolescents in Africa lack consistent and timely advice previously given to adolescents in the indigenous African society. As a result they suffer from social and physiological development related problems due to lack of adequate preparation as they face each stage of growth in Nairobi churches. Adolescents who are counseled are better adjusted to growth and development than those groups who are not fortunate enough to receive counseling. The book proposes, observance of some guidance practices given to the adolescents in the traditional social setup, church leaders need to look into issues such as establishing a good rapport with adolescents, training lay church workers on the needs of the youth, creating ample time and space for adolescents' needs and utilizing the seclusion camp model suggested so as to guide andcounsel adolescents in a more relevant manner. This would help stabilize the adolescent's inner person that craves for identity and recognition.
