The Pastoral mode of adaption in Awash valley of Oromia region, Ethiopia has long been under increasing pressure and stress that brings drought and unreliability of rainfall. As a result, the pastoral community in Fentale and Bosat are facing chronically food insecurity and famine. To solve this problem the Oromia regional state designed and implemented a large scale irrigation scheme called the Fentale Irrigation scheme that diverted from Awash River and cover approximately the total land area of more than 3841 hectares in eight pastoral kebele of the district. But as revealed in the research report to irrigate all potential areas there are problems like shortage of waters, input supply, market linkage and poor management of scheme administration. Therefore, all concerned bodies would work on this gap to achieve the objective of the irrigation scheme.
