Jet Black, a 16-year-old boy, while at boarding school, must learn Elemental magic and discover the meaning of a series of natural disasters from a book that has a mind of its own. The first warning that life was anything but ordinary for Jet Black should've been when three newly discovered abilities allowed him to escape the fiery destruction of his hometown of Silverton when thousands of others weren't as fortunate. Jet is drawn to the only heirloom that survived, an ancient book that holds its share of secrets. The book speaks of enduring war, entrapped beasts, and a series of events leading to the release of the demon. The book, The Sorcerer's Guide, becomes his mentor as he's thrust into a world of magic, treasure, fantastical creatures, confusion, and uncertainty. Learning Elemental magic comes at a cost, and Jet must navigate his friendships at boarding school and the complexities of his family dynamics. Jet quickly learns that someone else is just as curious about the destruction of his hometown and what it could mean. Shane Fallon, a bully from the first moment Jet stepped onto campus, keeps appearing unexpectedly. Shane and his goons seem to be searching for something as well and are willing to do whatever it takes to win.Path of the Phoenix is the first book in the series The Sorcerer's Guide.
Autorenporträt
PATH OF THE PHOENIX is the debut Novel by L Scott Clark. Born and raised in Littleton Colorado, he has always had the desire to do something different and be a little unique. He enjoyed playing Football and Baseball in High School and trying his luck in the theatre group. L. Scott enjoyed many different aspects of staged plays and musicals. He tried to improve at anything he tried, but some things were beyond his control. PATH OF THE PHOENIX is a decade in the making. L. Scott has worked on other projects along the way. This story though is a story of adventure and excitement, and who doesn't love some magic. The learning curve was steep and sometimes brutal. The first draft was over 200,000 words and way too long. He didn't know this at the time and spent years cutting it down, rewriting, and editing again. The process has been one of the best experiences in his life. No book is perfect and this one is far from that. But, it is something that he can be proud of. It is the first step (he hopes), of many more, in the world of being an Author. The Sorcerer's Guide is the name of the series and L. Scott has begun working on the second book.
