Although reported as rare in developed nations, Focal intracranial suppuration continues (FIS) to be a prevalent serious life-threatening condition in low and middle-income countries like Kenya due to the lack of widespread availability of computerized tomography and in the background of immunosuppression secondary to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection still endemic in Subsaharan Africa.
