Taking a further step, the study connects discipline context and cognitive context with several modes of library use. Relationship between the discipline, cognitive contexts and mode of library use are clarified by three objectives: the discipline and cognitive context relating students' library use, the correlation between the students' discipline and cognitive contexts and attitude / mode of library use, and the existing patterns of library use (discipline and cognitive contexts and mode of library use) among students.

The author of this book worked as a Librarian cum Adjunct Assistant Professor in several universities in Sri Lanka and Fiji Islands. The author received double master degrees and a doctoral degree in Library and Information Science.
