Eric C. Smith is Assistant Professor of the History of Christianity and New Testament Studies at the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. Smith is the author of two prior academic books, has been a weekly lectionary blogger for a popular blogging platform, and has served as a minister over fifteen years in progressive Christian congregations. He is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
