This work creates a compelling case for Paul's use of early Jewish wisdom traditions in First Corinthians through the use of a wisdom construct. The wisdom construct includes eight elements: Source, Definition, Purpose, Earthly Mediator, Requirement to Acquire Wisdom, Required Response After Wisdom is attained; Outcomes with Wisdom; Outcomes without Wisdom. The wisdom construct elements were extracted from the books of Proverbs, Job, Sirach and Wisdom of Solomon. These elements served as usage indicators. Their presence in First Corinthians was required for a conclusion that Paul did utilize early Jewish wisdom tradition. --Dr. Peter Gräbe, Professor of New Testament, Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA.
