In the middle of the night Alice meets her accomplice-dog-stealing-hero. He helps her out of a tight spot just when she needs it. She gets away with the dog that time but finds herself in danger of losing her entire family of dogs less than 12 hours later. For Alice, her dog rescue centre in Ringtrees is more than just a job - it's her passion and purpose, and it's her home. So, when Tom Blake arrives with plans to bulldoze her sanctuary to make way for new development, she's not about to let him destroy everything she's worked so hard for. More especially, she is devastated at the thought of her mother's sanctuary, the dog-den, with its towering trees and little memorials, being razed to the ground. Alice and Tom find themselves drawn to each other in ways they never anticipated, but they know there can be no future for them. Apart from any other consideration, Alice is engaged to Harry.

Autorenporträt
I live on the east coast of Australia a little north of Cedar River, where by the grace of God I've avoided encountering drop-bears, bunyips, hoop snakes, and less mythical wildlife in this crazy country. Much like Rosemary, I've lived in different places and held a patchworked array of different kinds of jobs. While that has made it difficult to answer the question, "So what do you do?" at dinner parties and the like, it has provided me with a wealth of material from which to draw in my writing. It has also shaped my perspective on what it means to walk with the Lord. The faithfulness and loving-kindness of the Father, the generous sacrifice of the Son, and the peace, comfort, and wisdom of the Spirit is the one constant when the world is ever shifting and changing around you. It's my prayer that as the world grows darker, the nearness of God's Spirit grows brighter in and through us. Matthew 5:14-16: You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
