Tony Abbott received a call this morning from an old flame he hasn't seen since high school. "I found something," Kristie says frantically over the line. "I think she was murdered." Tony returns home to Payton County, hoping the familiar sights and sounds will help unravel the tangled circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Kristie's twin sister on the same day he skipped town two decades earlier. As he reconstructs that beautiful yet tragic summer by revisiting old haunts and reliving childhood memories, he realizes some secrets are better left buried. The destructive force that tore a small community apart has returned, promising more bloodshed to protect its evil secret. Payton Hidden Away is the story of best friends, young love, and the loss of innocence.

Autorenporträt
Before he could even spell, Jonathan Korbecki had an itch to change the stories that were read to him as a child. By the time he reached the second grade, he was already rewriting the endings or penning his own short stories from scratch. With the support and encouragement of friends and family, Korbecki published his first novel, The Enemy Mind, in 2003 under the pen name Jonathan David. However, as his style matured, Korbecki abandoned his early work and began focusing on themes that more closely reflected the issues in his life. He credits Jodi Picoult, Chuck Palahniuk, and Jonathan Tropper as his biggest influences. Korbecki continues to work in the Information Technology field while residing in western Michigan.
