In the early 1990s, the Chapultepec Peace Agreement was signed in El Salvador. In the middle of the same decade, the Peace Agreement was reached between the Government of the Republic of Guatemala and the Guatemalan National Revolutionary Unity - UNRG. More than two decades later, in 2016, a Peace Agreement was signed in Colombia, which represents the end of one of the longest internal conflicts in the world, approximately 53 years.This text provides a description of each of the internal conflicts and peace processes mentioned, concentrating the study on the implementation stages that took place in the 1990s in El Salvador and Guatemala, so that it is possible to analyze them with a view to the implementation stage that Colombia has undergone, and from there, it is possible to identify elements that allow a better understanding of the future implementation of the Colombian Peace Agreement, especially in relation to the treatment and significance of victims and perpetrators.
