Autorenporträt
Art is a way of expressing Sandy's thoughts and emotions on paper. While painting and sculpting have been the focus of her work for many years, Sandy recently started what she calls "freestyle intuitive drawing" as a meditative process of maintaining peace and focus in her life. Sandy's philosophy is there is beauty in imperfection. This is why her drawings are left in their original state with stray lines, etc. and with very few changes. Sandy finds that these "imperfections" can inspire additions to the artwork that make it even more beautiful and unique. Lines, both straight and curved, represent everyone and everything in our lives. We are all connected by a larger unseen web, whether it be physical or emotional. She draws using black ink and white spaces or vice versa to represent the beauty of people and things just as they are with no embellishments - no socio-economic differences, no racial or ethnic differences and no religious differences. We can all relate to lines, we all see them, yet they all represent different things to each of us. Her drawings are a celebration of our uniqueness, yet our sameness. Sandy has been an artist since she took her first Art Class in 7th Grade. Inspired by a drawing her sister made, she went on to study Art at the University of Central Florida, Seminole State College, and Crealdé School of Art. Sandy is married with one child and lives in Florida.
