The topic deals with the educational approach "Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)" as the final paper of the distance learning course 2019/2020 "Sustainable Development" of the Protestant Distance Learning Center at the Comenius - Institute Münster. It is a field of learning and action that emerged in 1992 in the wake of the Rio Conference. The work refers as a basis to the subarea of peace learning or peace education and peace research. The author is interested in this focus as a contribution to political education, democracy education and intercultural education through his work in teacher training or adult education. The change to a sustainable world requires a rethinking of the overall social and political responsibility. Educational areas receive pedagogical tasks for learning to rethink in education, training and continuing education.
