Peace Makers is written for imperfect people seeking to make peace in an imperfect world. The book argues that the Christian life is motivated by grace and that personal inner peace is key to social reconciliation. The book looks at three Biblical stories that reveal both paths and roadblocks to being a peacemaker. Peace Makers should be especially helpful for people who are looking for more than just political strategies for social peace but see the need for personal power to be peacemakers. Note that Jesus was a peacemaker without a political strategy. We too often underestimate the powerful impact of a life shaped by grace in one's work, in one's brokenness, and in the willingness to suffer loss in forgiving others.

James Owen Abrahamson is a ThM graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and for nearly three decades has been the pastor/teacher of the Chapel Hill Bible Church near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC. Though retired from his position at the church, he continues to preach in the Chapel Hill area, write, and teach a regular class as a part of his church family. The passion and theme of Jim's teaching has been "the grace of God" and "the power of Christ's Spirit through the teaching of Scripture" to inspire lives of peace, worship, and service. The theme and content of this book is the heart of much of what he has been saying for three decades of ministry. www.apttoteach.org
