WRITER, DIRECTOR, PRODUCER Inspiring Greatness. That is what Renée is and has always been about. Renée has spent the last 25 years changing the lives of students nationally. She helps them learn how to use their brains correctly for success. "Inspiration moves and motivates me. Inspiring Greatness in people is what I am all about. About 30 years ago, I read the book, 'Frames of Mind' by Dr. Howard Gardner and this one book moved me so deeply that my life took on a whole new direction. Gardner and his research showed us that we all learn differently. Following college graduation, Renée was a speech pathologist with the Fountain Valley School District. She then formed a private practice in Orange County, California. Now living in Ashland, Oregon, for over a decade Renée took care of her husband, best friend, and partner who suffered from vascular dementia. "This once brilliant man began to lose his memory and his ability to do simple things. When he passed away 4 years ago, he was about age 3. Taking care of him was the most challenging thing I have ever done and one of the most loving. I learned much while taking care of my husband," declares Renée. Once he passed on, Renée's life changed completely. Single again after 30 years of marriage she decided to pursue her love of writing and completed her first novel, Peace Train, A Love Story. "It is a story that came to me in a very special way. It just showed up. I listened and I wrote down what I heard. A screenplay has also been written and the film is now in the works. I am not a one-note wonder. In addition to writing books and producing films, Renée is a regular guest on national radio shows talking about how education can be turned around with one simple step: getting students to value learning over memorizing. Whether we learn from her books or films, the inspirational lessons are there for all from the master: Renée Mollan-Masters.
