Osteoarthritis has become major concern nowadays. A number of methods have been developed in the last few years which help in treating the osteoarthritis, which includes nonpharmacological, pharmacological and surgical methods. Among the most promising techniques with renewed interest for osteoarthritis with deformity is the use of high tibial osteotomy. To assess the efficacy of the high tibial osteotomy (HTO) in improving pain and knee function in osteoarthritis of the knee and to correlate the axial alignment of the knee joint pre and post operatively with the results of procedure. Medial Opening Wedge High Tibial Osteotomy stabilized by unilateral external fixator is a good method for unicompartmental osteoarthritis knee with deformity as precise control over final limb alignment and its ability to perform a residual correction. Deformity correction is quantified at the time of correction as it is not acute correction. Gradual deformity correction is done over time by distraction osteogenesis with the help of uniplaner external fixator with good results.
