Linda is a retired registered nurse and healthcare executive. Her career spanned healthcare, global manufacturing, and academia. She was director of quality improvement for an acute care hospital, vice-president of patient services for a home care agency, group personnel manager for an international manufacturing company, and executive director of an academic nurse-managed health center at a public university. She worked diligently to improve healthcare and served on state and national committees including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Director's Council of Public Representatives (COPR) and the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). She was a reviewer for NIH's Plain Language Initiative for three years. Linda is co-author of If You Have to Wear an Ugly Dress, Learn to Accessorize, a popular book about how to live well despite chronic illness. Linda lives with her husband in Greenville, SC. She enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, especially her nine-year-old granddaughter, Harper. She reads voraciously and paints watercolors.
