The posture when compared to the ancestors there is a significant change especially the upper body. We find rounded shoulder, forward head posture, increased back curvatures all these habitual changes lead to further musculoskeletal disorders and pain. The slouched sitting, cell phones prolonged use, etc. leads to the tightness of the muscle which in the future may lead to neck pain, shoulder pain. As a final year grad student, this topic caught special attention for my research project as I observed the posture of students around me and noted that most of them had rounder shoulders to an extent. Therefore the research was done in order to find out the changes in the upper body the muscle concerned was the pectoralis minor which is mainly considered when it comes to rounded shoulder posture.
