A fundamental component for the development of pediatric anesthesia is the airway approach. The anatomical characteristics of the pediatric population, and structural differences compared to adults, may result in greater susceptibility to complications caused by the designed video devices. Although complications related to the management of pediatric VA are not frequent, they sometimes generate morbidity and mortality in vulnerable populations such as newborns and small infants. Knowing the advantages and limitations of the different pediatric orotracheal intubation techniques is a starting point to optimize their approach. Video laryngoscopy is becoming a fundamental support for pediatric orotracheal intubation.
