Autorenporträt
Dr. Franz Schaefer is Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of the Pediatric Nephrology Division at Heidelberg University Hospital. He received his MD at Würzburg University Medical School and performed research scholarships at the Institute of Child Health, London, the University of Virginia and Stanford University. He served on boards and councils of several medical societies and is the current President of the International Pediatric Nephrology Association. He is the Coordinator of the European Reference Network for Rare Kidney Diseases (ERKNet). He has a long-standing track record in clinical, genetic and translational research in pediatric kidney diseases and coordinates several international research consortia including the ESCAPE Network, the International Pediatric Peritoneal Dialysis Network and the PodoNet Consortium. Professor Larry A. Greenbaum, MD, PhD is Division Director of Pediatric Nephrology and the Bernard Marcus Professor of Pediatric Nephrology at the Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta. He is also the Director of Pediatric Nephrology and Executive Clinical Director at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. He received his MD and PhD degrees from the Yale School of Medicine, and completed a residency in Pediatrics and a fellowship in Pediatric Nephrology at the UCLA School of Medicine, USA. He is an NIH-funded investigator, award-winning teacher, and has served as President of the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology and Chair of the Section of Nephrology Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
