Waste wood continues to be generated in very large quantities, especially in developing countries whilst at the same time, wood-fuel accounts for a very significant fraction of the world's energy use. It is in this light the author decided to embark on this study at TU Freiberg and to undertake the project to ascertain the viability of pelletized solid fuel, which will also make economic sense.

Mr. Mawuli Ahiabor holds a bachelor¿s dedegree in Physics and Geology from the University of Ghana, Legon in Accra, Ghana, and a Master¿s degree in Business Administration from the Technical University of Freiberg (IMRE) in Sachsen, Germany. He currently teaches Geological Hazards at the University of Ghana, Legon.
