Pemberton Place, located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, is home to the Georgia Aquarium and the new World of Coca-Cola, and the scheduled location for the Center for Civil & Human Rights. It is named after John Pemberton, the inventor of Coca-Cola. It is located on the site of Coca-Cola Olympic City.Pemberton Place was created in 2004 in preparation for the Georgia Aquarium and the new World of Coca-Cola. The land was owned by the Coca-Cola Company and was given to the city of Atlanta for the Georgia Aquarium and the Center for Civil & Human Rights museum.
