The 3 Members of Parliament for the seat were James Seaton from 1881 to 1882, William Larnach from 1883 to 1890, and William Earnshaw from 1890 to 1893. James Seaton (May 1822 18 November 1882) was a 19th century Member of Parliament from Dunedin, New Zealand. Seaton was born in Sorn, East Ayrshire, Scotland, and was one of the original settlers of Otago, arriving aboard the Philip Laing in 1848.
