Many perpetrators of serious crimes are distressed by the act committed and will retain a deep emotional wound. We studied the suffering experienced by the inmate perpetrator of voluntary manslaughter by explaining the mechanisms on the psychological level that favor the production of suffering in this type of inmate. Does the perception of control of voluntary homicide induce psychological distress in its perpetrator? We recruited five (05) male inmates, convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the central prison of Douala. These participants were subjected to our research protocol.
