Parents now become confused as to what extent they should give freedom to their adolescents. The problems highlighted by media about internet and face book related abuse, mobile phone use and abuse , teenage suicides all add to their woe. At times like this they look up to psychologists for guidance and it becomes the responsibility of the psychologists to intervene to study problems of concern to society in a systematic manner and offer appropriate guidance. 1.2 Parenting Parenting is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood, and it refers to the aspects of raising a child aside from the biological relationship. Furthermore, it's a kind of rearing that teaches them to be a self-reliant individual to lead an independent life.
