This Paper presents the research findings on the perceptions of University of Nairobi students of the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) in Kenya. It captures their perceptions of the usefulness and effectiveness of HELB in giving them loans as University students. The paper further the study's seeks to establish the role of HELB in meeting the financial needs of students as well as investigating the adequacy of these loans; finding out whether students need counselling on loan management.
